April is National Occupational Therapy Month!
National Occupational Therapy
Month (NOTM) is hosted by the American Occupational Therapy Association
(AOTA) each April to recognize how occupational therapists and
occupational therapy assistants help transform society by restoring and
improving function in people's lives.
Occupational therapists help
individuals across the lifespan achieve independence and participate in
tasks they want and need to accomplish through therapeutic
interventions following trauma or disability. This dedicated group of
professionals focus on treatment to help develop, recover and maintain
the daily skills of patients with specialized services and support.
Occupational therapy enhances quality of life via wellness, productive
aging, pediatric care, work health, mental health, resolving or adapting
to impairments, teaching and research.
Join Select Physical Therapy as we celebrate these everyday heroes. Visit our Facebook, Twitter and Instagram platforms as we spotlight our occupational therapists throughout the month.
